Ancient family, with residence in the city of Leonforte. A Giuseppe was Count of Valle dei Giunchi (1785), a title later converted into that of Count delle Mandre, of which the son of said Giuseppe, Francesco Paolo, invested on 17 January 1808. With Royal Decree of 2-22 March 1906, Signor Basilio, di Daniele, obtained the renewal of the title of Baron of San Giuseppe (mpr). The Golden Book of the Italian nobility also includes Hercules, brother of said Baron Basilio. Furthermore, the presence of the motto in the documented bibliography of the family confirms the ancestral nobility of the family. Family motto: Bene docet. The first news of the Carella family in Francavilla dates back to the second decade of the 17th century.
