Family originally from Varallo, then in Turin to Moncalieri and Savoy. The lines of the Counts of Brandizzo and the Counts of Bassy (Savoy) are extinct. The line of accounts of Roccastello survives, whose genealogical attack with the previous lines is unknown; but in 1826 the proof that they participated in the transaction of the various lines with the Earl of Bassy was asserted The title of count was given on 21 February 1826 to Benedetto (born Varallo, 15 August 1772; dec. 6 January 1852), regent of Valsesia (12 June 1815), reformer of the schools of Varallo (10 September 1837), to whom a subsequent sovereign provision granted the predicate of Roccastello (May 2, 1837).
