Famiglia stabilitasi in Parma con Filippo, proveniente da Roma, alla metà del secolo XVIII. Il titolo di nobile (m.), proviene alla famiglia da Giuseppe, il quale nel 1777 fu commissario ducale di Bardi, nel 1780 uditore criminale di Piacenza, nel 1795 procuratore fiscale, nel 1 settembre 1800 fu da D. Ferdinando di Borbone creato consigliere del magistrato di finanza. In virtù del decreto del 22 gennaio 1777 lo stesso duca aveva stabilito che i consiglieri dei supremi tribunali ducali e i loro figli e discendenti, maschi legittimi e naturali fossero considerati nobili; perciò i discendenti di Giuseppe furono iscritti alla nobiltà Parmense nel 1800. Appartiene alla famiglia, benché non sia del ramo di Giuseppe, Giulio (nato a Parma nel 1813, dec. 1890), il quale dopo aver tenuto per un ventennio la direzione della tipografia in Parma per incarico del cugino Giuseppe, si dedicò alla pittura e agli studi classici, riuscendo
