Antichissima famiglia castellana e parlamentare del Friuli, che uno dei suoi membri più illustri, il cav Ciro di Pers, poeta del sec. XVII, in una storia del proprio casato da lui scritta, affermava discendere da un D. Federico, vivente nel 1100. Di tale affermazione ci manca la prova; ma a documentare l'antichità della famiglia basteranno i seguenti due documenti: nel 1139 Wergandus de Warm et frater suuns Arthuicus sono testimoni alla donazione del co. di Gorizia al monastero di Aquileia della giurisdizione di Cervignano. Terzo, Muscoli, ecc. Nel 1154 Bruno, assiste all'assegnazione fatta dal patriarca d'Aquileia a Otto, abbate di Millstatt, di alcuni terreni in S. Foca presso Cordenons. Non è stato però possibile di trovare il nesso geneaologico fra questi due personaggi e il resto della famiglia, la di cui ascendenza ininterrotta risale a un D.
