Uma família antiga e muito ilustre de Fossombrone, que foi elevada à classe nobre pessoalmente por Francesco, secretário de Guidobaldo I de Montefeltro, duque de Urbino. Um outro Francesco, que fazia parte do "Consiglio degli Otto", em 1606 foi chamado a governar o Estado pelo duque Francesco Maria II. Tibério foi um cônego em Aquileia, protonotário apostólico e um ilustre vigário, obteve gratidão e favores da parte do rei da Boêmia e Hungria - Ferdinando II; que o nomeou embaixador junto ao papado de Papa Paolo V e sucessivamente foi bispo de Alessandria e conselheiro do Sacro Império Romano. A família se dividiu em três ramos: o de Fossombrone, agora extinto, o de Nocera Umbra e o de Pesaro que, em seguida, se transferiu a Macerata, onde foi agregada à nobreza local. A "Consulta Araldica" declarou que os membros dessa família (do gênero masculino que feminino) tinham direito ao título
