Famiglia aragonese che si trasferì a Cagliari nel secolo XV con il notaio Giovanni che ebbe l'ufficio ereditario di segretario di Cagliari. Agli inizi del secolo XVII con i figli di suo nipote Bartolomeo la famiglia si divise in due rami: dal dottor Giovanni, che fu consigliere capo del Castello, discese il ramo che si estinse nel corso del secolo XVII. Francesco, suo fratello nel 1620 fu primo assessore del Tribunale del regio patrimonio, nel 1631 ebbe il cavalierato ereditario e aumentò considerevolmente il prestigio della famiglia. I suoi figli formarono ancora altri due rami: Giovanni Battista, che ottenne la nobiltà nel 1676, fu maestro razionale. Ebbe numerosi figli che seppero continuare le tradizioni della famiglia; Gaspare divenne anche lui maestro razionale, durante le guerre di successione parteggiò per gli Asburgo, nel 1708 fece parte del Supremo Consiglio d'Aragona; Felice fu tesoriere reale e Francesco fu abate di Saccargia.
