Ramo dell'antica ed illustre famiglia Casali di Roma, appartenne a quel patriziato e compresa fra le sessanta "Coscritte" dalla Bolla "Urbem Romam", in data 4 gennaio 1746, di Benedetto XIV. L'attuale capo di questa famiglia, Conte Alberto, discende infatti in linea retta e per le interposte persone di Aniello Alberto, Raffaele, Pietro, Giov. Battista e Alessandro da Giovan Battista, Patrizio Romano, che con atto stipulato a Roma per Notar Pier Antonio Quintilio il 17 dicembre 1711 e munito di Regio Assenso dato a Barcellona il 14 aprile 1712 ed esecutoriato in Napoli il 31 agosto 1712 fece acquisto del feudo di Pastena, in Terra di Lavoro, "con suo castello seu fortelezza, case, palazzi, uomini, vassalli, feudi, subfeudi, banco della giustizia e cognizione delle prime e seconde case civili, criminali e miste, mero e misto imperio, etc.".
