The origin of this illustrious surname, by references from historians of the time and others found out by Araldis in the registry files of cities and other private ones, we could affirm, but not assure, that this shield or another very similar to it, initially appeared from the 11th to 14th century, particularly in the campaigns against the Turks in 1,302 and seem to be cited in the victories of Artaki (October 1,302), Philadelphia (May 1, 1,303) and Mount Taurus (August 15, 1,304). The references of this family seem to be needed more frequently from the XV to the XIX century, especially the events in Flanders, accompanying the entourage of D. Luis de Requesens when he took command of the Thirds of Flanders and reordered them. All this seems to coincide with the family memory of some of the members of the Cascón family branch.
