Antigua y muy noble familia milanesa, señor feudal de Monticello, que se extendió a lo largo de los siglos en varias regiones de Italia. El origen de este apellido, según genealogistas autorizados, debe buscarse en el topónimo "Casirago", en el pasado una fracción del municipio de Montevecchi en la provincia de Como, probablemente el lugar de origen de un progenitor hoy desconocido. En todo caso, esta familia, a lo largo de las décadas, siempre ha sabido producir una serie de hombres que hicieron ilustres su nombre, en el empleo público, en las profesiones liberales y eclesiásticas y en el servicio militar. Entre estos, sin arriesgar nada al valor de los omitidos, contamos: Bernardo, doctor en "utroque jure", residente en Como, en 1456; cav. Gio Battista, jurisconsulto y guerrero, auditor general del ejército de Carlos V; Martino, teólogo y sacerdote, floreció en Milán, en 1589, nombrado vicario foráneo; cav. Francesco, Doctor
