Antica ed assai nobile famiglia laziale, sorta dall'unione, per via matrimoniale, di due illustri casati. Il primo, ovvero quello dei Casoni, gode di antica e qualificata nobiltà, dal momento che, sin dal 1574, trovasi ascritto, all'ora cessato, nobile Consiglio di Serravalle. Gli individui di tal casato, ora diviso in vari rami, discendenti da un Giacinto, erano altresì insigniti del titolo Comitale e Marchionale; l'uno derivante da investitura feudale accordata al detto Giacinto, dal Senato Veneto con suo decreto del 1653, l'altro procedente da concessione fatta al medesimo loro autore, da Carlo Emanuele Duca di Savoia, con Diploma 15 gennaio 1664. Un cospicuo ramo della medesima famiglia, inoltre, fiorì in Sarzana, La famiglia Casoni era originaria di Sarzana, ove, fin dal sec.
