Con deliberazione consigliare 15 giugno 1847 il Magistato Civico di Samminiato proponeva il conferimento della sua Nobiltà in favore del conte Giovan Battista Antonio, figlio di Pietro Antonio, conte di Cassagne de Saint Jean de Libron, di antichissima famiglia feudataria francese della provincia di Linguadoca. Dal matrimonio di detto Giovan Battista (n. 9 marzo 1777) con Maria Francesca de Ronli (17 aprile 1809) erano nati il visconte Antonio (n. 10 maggio 1810) e il barone Stefano (n. 13 dicembre 1813), che da Maria Payre (1842) aveva avuto la figlia Maria Isaura. Tenuto conto della nobiltà di questa stirpe e del proposito manifestato dal Conte De C. di stabilirsi in Toscana, il Granduca con Rescritto 9 agosto 1847 ordinava la loro iscrizione al Libro d'Oro della Nobiltà Samminiatese. La famiglia è iscritta genericamente nell'Elenco Uff. Nob. Ital. del 1922, col titolo di Nobile di S. Miniato (mf.) in persona dei Discendenti
