Casa solare a Galdames, del partito giudiziario di Valmaseda (Vizcaya) e armi a Bilbao e Portugalete. La casa di Castaños, situata nel termine dell'anteglesia di Baracaldo, della stessa parte, e un'altra che risiedeva nella valle di Sopuerta, anch'essa della parte giudiziaria di Valmaseda, derivata dal lotto di Galdames. Indubbiamente, questi ultimi provengono dalle case omonime nei luoghi di Matienzo e Riva, nella valle del Ruesga (Santander), poiché hanno le stesse armi. C'era un'altra casa solare di Castaño nella valle di Salcedo (Álava), con diverse armi. C'è anche questo lignaggio in Portogallo, e alcuni devono provenire dalle case di Vizcaya, mentre altri sembrano provenire dalla casa della Valle de Salcedo. Dalla casa di Galdames venne il generale Castaños, primo duca di Bailén.
