Bernard, èvêque du Puy, comte de Velay (1308-1316). Nè à Montpellier, d'abor avocat, puis prêtre et auditeur du Palais pontifiacal, nommé évêque d'Albi le 7 mars 1275, il assista au concile d'Aurillac. Transféré sur le siège du Puy (oct. 1308), c'est lui qui fut le fondateur en 1309, d'une collégiale de treize chanoines dans l'église de St-Marcellin-de-Monistrol, ainsi que le fondateur en 1312, du monastère de filles de Vals. Il permit enfin en 1316, aux Carmes, de s'établir au Puy. Créé cardinal-évêque de Porto (18 déc. 1316), il mourut à Avignon le 14 août 1317. Ce prélat appartenait à une maison illustre et ancienne en Rouergue.
