Se desprende de las noticias que aportan algunos autores acerca del origen y antigüedad de este apellido, que tuvo su cuna y primitivo solar en la antigua villa de Castejón de la Barca (cuyo nombre tomó), del partido judicial de Tudela (Navarra). Esa villa desapareció hace mucho tiempo y hoy es un despoblado solamente. Por los datos históricos que de ella se conservan, se sabe que tuvo castillo, que servía de defensa contra las invasiones que sufría Navarra por los castellanos, y que en 1244 la poseía en Señorío Guillermo Pérez de Castejón, que es el primero de este apellido del que se tiene noticia. De ese Señor de la antigua villa de Castejón parece se que fué descendiente un Capitan del mismo apellido que se estableció en Agreda (Soria), y edificó en esta villa el palacio y casa-fuerte, sito linaje en Agreda, de la que proceden los Marqueses de
