Family originating from Giorgio, last despot of Albania. The genealogical tree of this family as descendant from the said Giorgio, was authenticated by the Royal Commissioner of the Heraldic Council, with the approval of the President of the Council of Ministers, on 3 February 1910. She enjoyed nobility in Amalfi and was enrolled in the Venetian patriciate. It wore the habit of Malta from 1561. It was enfeoffed of S. Demetrio, S. Cosmo and Macchia and decorated, by succession of the De Gennaro family, with the title of marquis of Auletta, originally granted to the Vitilio family in 1714. It is registered in Golden Book nob. Italian and in the official list with the title of marquis of Auletta (mpr.) and pred. of S. Angelo alle Fratte (mf.).
