Sicilian family, of clear and ancestral nobility, who possessed numerous fiefdoms in this region. It is believed to have originated in Nola, passed towards Palermo towards the end of the 16th century, where it enjoyed nobility, possessing the marquisate of "Tortorici delli Graniti". Don Alvaro owned the Baronia dei Pulci, also had the Castellania del Castello di Noto from King Alfonso, of whom, after his death, his son Don Pietro invested in 1471. He had his wife Ximena de Corellas, daughter of Ximemio Perez de Corellas, Catalan cavalier, full of many riches, with which in 1445 he bought the city of Mazara. With this Ximena, Don Pietro procreated Don Alvaro and Don Giovanni di Castro, who fought under the Catholic King Ferdinand.
