Antica e nobile famiglia veliterna detta Cavaceppi o Cavaceppo che alzò per arme: D'azzurro, al ceppo d'albero sradicato. Altra famiglia antica di Ascoli Piceno. Agostino ebbe il titolo di marchese di Cavaceppo trasmissibile a tutti i suoi discendenti maschi, fin dal 1794. Godono essi anche il titolo di patrizio di Ascoli Piceno per tutta la discendenza maschile e femminile. Il marchese Emilio avendo sposato l a N. D. Cecilia Rosati-Sacconi, ultima di sua famiglia, aggiunse questo cognome e inquartò lo stemma Sacconi. I titoli sono stati riconosciuti fin dal 1906 come risulta dall'Elenco uff. marchigiano. Oggi la famiglia si divide in tre rami: Ramo primogenito: 1. Luigi m.se di Cavaceppo, patrizio di Ascoli, 2. Francesco, sp. Tacchi-Venturi. Ramo secondogenito: Beatrice. Ramo terzogenito: 1. Pio , marchese di Cavaceppo, patrizio di Ascoli, n. Ascoli 21 febbr. 1866, ingegnere; sp. 25 ag. 1898 Giuseppina Savio, da cui: M.se Francesco, n. 19 febbr.
