A família antiga de Fossano, chamada Celebrini ou Celebrin, ramificou-se em Alba, Cuneo e Villafranca di Nizza. Foi dividido, já em tempos remotos, em três ramos, a saber, de Cornegliano e Predosa, ambos extintos, e de S. Martino. Cornegliano foi dado como investidura ao conde Costanzo em 18 de fevereiro de 1754, com um título em comum; Predosa ao conde Giovenale em 4 de junho de 1792; S. Martino com S. Bartolomeo della Motta (Fossano) para Francesco Antonio (n. 31 de março de 1728, 3 de dezembro de 1783), com título baronial. Ele desceu em linha reta de outro Francesco Antonio que morava em Fossano na segunda metade do século XVI, e deu origem ao Barão Giambattista e ao Cav.
