Primeiro eles disseram Milletto; e originário de Chiavari e Santo Stefano. Eles também floresceram em Roma e Piacenza. Segundo pensa GA Ascheri, na obra empreendida e executada por ele "Notícias históricas em torno das famílias em hotéis em Gênova, impressas em Gênova por Faziola em 1846", é de origem italiana, passada para Gênova, entre os séculos XV e XVII . São poucas as cidades que possuem famílias nobres tão antigas como as da Ligúria, pois apesar dos acontecimentos da época ainda conta em seu seio muitas famílias que comprovam sua genealogia de pai para filho através de escrituras notariais de meados do século XII até ' hoje, ou seja, de uma época que serve de barreira a quase todas as famílias da Europa. Mas se nos faltam as escrituras anteriores às de Giovanni Scriba de 1150, e de Lanfranco Lotaro de 1180, para aumentar mais graus de nobreza da família
