Sul finire del XVII secolo Giuseppe sosteneva le più eminenti cariche del Comune, ed il di lui figlio Michelantonio nel 1724 fu investito del feudo di Bairolo colla dignità comitale. Angelo fu Maggiore nel corpo dei Carabinieri reali e fu vittima del subbuglio avvenuto in Genova nell'Aprile 1815. Giacinto Maggiore di cavalleria, Cavaliere Mauriziano e della Legion d'Onore, molto si distinse nelle guerre del primo impero, e con lui nel 1865 si estinse questa nobile famiglia. La presenza del motto nella bibliografia documentata della famiglia ci conferma l'avita nobiltà raggiunta della casata. Infatti l'origine del motto risale a circa il XIV secolo e deve essere ricercata in quei detti arguti che venivano scritti sui vessilli o bandiere dei cavalieri, esposti alle finestre delle locande in cui questi alloggiavano, in occasione dei tornei, e durante i tornei stessi.
