Die Familie kam mit Carlo d'Angiò nach Italien und ließ sich in Genuesen, der Toskana und anderen Regionen nieder. Die Ceschi, die sich in der Toskana niederließen, kauften ein Dorf in der Gegend von Pistoia, das vielleicht noch vor diesem Kauf Serre genannt wurde. und wir finden sie bereits seit dem Ende des dreizehnten Jahrhunderts sehr mächtig, wie die Geschichten von Pistoia und mehr und besser die Bezirks- und Landbibliotheken, in denen sie mit dem Namen ihres Besitzes als Ceschi, Biceschi und della Serra bezeichnet werden. Nachdem sie Pistoia gestürzt hatten, wurden sie Anhänger der Florentiner Republik, die ihn zuerst zum Notar und dann zum Priorat zuließ. 1524 quietschte Alexander von Ser Pietro für den Größeren. Kapitän Lorenzo, vom Großherzog als Artillerie-Direktor nach Elba geschickt, wurde nach Portoferraio versetzt der Wohnsitz der Familie. Inquartato; nel I e IV di rosso, alla croce d'argento; nel II e III contro-inquartato; nel 1.° e 4.° d'azzurro, al grifo coronato d'oro; nel 2.° e 3.° spaccato di rosso e d'argento, alla croce scorciata e patente dell'uno all'altro. Sul tutto del contra-inquartato uno scudetto spaccato; superiormente di nero, al leone nascente d'oro, coronato dello stesso e colla coda biforcata d'oro; inferiormente di nero, a tre fascie d'oro.
