De tres caballeros de este apellido que asistieron a la conquista de Valencia, hace mención mosén Jaime Febrer en sus Trovas. Del primero, llamado Arnaldo S., dice: "Vino por gran honor desde París a la conquista de Valencia en ocasión que Zaén (el rey moro), dejando la ciudad, pasaba a embarcarse para Denia con su ejército, arrepentido y quejoso de su mala fortuna. Convoyólo S. de orden del rey (Jaime I) y a su vuelta le premió, primero en el lugar de Torrente, y luego en el de Picacent". Del segundo, también llamado Arnaldo, manifiesta que era catalán y que "obró siempre arreglando su conducta a los que temían más conocimiento y experiencia para tener acierto en todo". Del tercero, Bernardo de S., cuenta que se opuso a una salida de Valencia, que intentó el rey Zaén con muchos moros y que al descubrir el agareno su presencia huyó, exclamando entonces el rey don Jaime : "Váyase que no pare, y pues se va de nuetra vista huyendo, no hay que tener cuidado".
