The first memory of the Chiapponi dates back to 1183, living in that period a Clapo and Japan elected from among the judges to be sent to Constance to sign the peace. From 1400 to 1712 they were lords of the castle of Rezzanello with a comital title, which domain and title passed to the Douglas Scotti sent to the Chiapponi family extinct in the latter with the death of Theodora the only survivor and universal heir of Daniele Chiapponi, and bride to the Marquis Annibale -Deodato Scotti. Gabriele Chiapponi distinguished soldier in the army of Nicolò Piccino in 1436. Battista one of the deputies elected by the General Council of Piacenza in 1474 for the erection of the large hospital.
