Niccolò, aiutante di camera del Duca di Savoia, Carlo-Emanuele II, fu padre di Lorenzo, nel 1628 nominato procuratore generale dei poveri presso il senato di Piemonte e che ebbe la concessione dell'arma di cui fa tuttora uso la famigliaa Chiavarina. Giovanni-Domenico fu commissario generale dell'azienda di guerrra, e padre di Gian-Andrea-Giacinto, nel 1751 segretario del Ministero di guerra, e nel 1757 primo ufficiale. Nel 1770 ebbe la croce dell'ordine Mauriz., e non molto dopo l'elevata carica di primo segretario del re Carlo-Emanuele III pel gran magistero di quell'Ordine. Successe al celebre conte Bogino nel ministero della guerra, e nel 1776 fu investito del feudo di Rubiana colla dignità comitale. Provvisto di regia commenda, ebbe anche la carica di sovrintendente agli archivi di corte. Il Conte Amedeo-Domenico suo figlio fu decurione della città di Torino nel secolo XVIII, poi di nuovo alla ristorazione del 1814, ed ebbe la croce di cavaliere
