Di questa famiglia friulana non si conoscono notizie anteriori alla fine del 1600; epoca in cui dimorava a Udine nella parrocchia di S. Niccolò un dott. Francesco medico fisico, appartenente alla cittadinanza popolare. Nel 1764, in occasione di un processo di nobiltà alla famiglia Wijne di Londra, risultò che Teresa di Udine, che rappresentava uno dei quarti ascendenti dei richiedenti Wijne, era qualificata nobile nella sua fede di battestimo (8 luglio 1657, Duomo-Udine). Il Governo Veneto ritenne ciò sufficiente a provare la nobiltà nella famiglia, e ne fece espressa dichiarazione nella ducale 11 febbraio 1764 rilasciata ai Wijne. Approfittarono di ciò i membri della famiglia nel secolo seguente, chiedendo un riconoscimento della loro nobiltà, in base appunto alla citata ducale del 1764.
