Antica e nobile famiglia della Sicilia che alzò per arme: D'oro, al destrocherio armato, impugnato un'asta con bandiera di verde svolazzante a sinistra, accostata da due chiavi di nero, l'ingegno verso i fianchi, e accompagnato da tre alberi sradicati di verde moventi dalla punta. Il commendator G.B. di Crollalanza riporta la blasonatura di questa famiglia nei volumi del suo Dizionario storico blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane. Di quante famiglie illustri d'antica nobilità di sangue, e di attioni militari hanno fiorite nella Spagna, e nel Regno di Sicilia, non la si vegge seconda a niuna questa chiarissima famiglia. Però innanzi, che reportiamo tutte le cose, che di lei hanno scritto i cronisti di Spagna, e gl'altri antichi autori, si inserirà una antica descrittione sopra la medesima famiglia ritrovata trà gli scrittorii.
