Lui et son frère sont qualifiés nobles et écuyers. Parmi les représentants actuels on signale: Charles de Villepeys, marié à Caroline de Granier de Fontblanche, de ce mariage: Maxence de Chieusses Villepeys, marié le 14 avril 1857, à Louise-Catherine-Claire-Blanche Cucurny. La distinction familiale représentée ici sous forme de blason, survit à travers les siècles grâce à des précieux témoignages qui nous ont permis de rapporter les exploits et les gestes de cette noble famille. Armes de cette famille: D'azur, au chevron d'or accompagné d'une rose de même en pointe; au chef d'argent.
