Dalla riviera orientale trapiantata in Genova da tempo assai remoto, fu ascritta alla nobiltà nel 1528 ed aggregata all'albergo dei Marini. Nicolò consigliere della Repubblica nel 1368; Damiano del Consiglio degli anziani, e riformatore dei capitoli statutari nel 1393; Luigi capitano di galea sotto la guida di Clemente Fazio. Poche sono le città, che vantino famiglie nobili si antiche come quelle in Genova, poichè malgrado le vicende dei tempi essa conta ancora nel suo seno molte famiglie che provano la loro genealogia da padre in figlio mercè gli atti notarili dalla metà del XII secolo fino a' giorni nostri, vale a dire da un'epoca che serva di barriera a quasi tutte le famiglie d'Europa. Ma se ci mancono i rogiti anteriori a quelli di Giovanni Scriba dell'anno 1150, e di Lanfranco Lotaro del 1180, onde accrescere più gradi di nobiltà di questa famiglia, gli stessi atti però ci somministrano una
