Famiglia Livornese S. M. Vittorio Emanule III, Re d'Italia con Regio Decreto di Motu proprio 28 ottobre 1928 e RR. LL. PP. 9 agosto 1929 concesse il titolo di Conte, con successione primogeniale mascolina col Predicato onorifico di Cortellazzo, per ambo i sessi, a Constanzo Cianno, di Raimondo, nobilissima figura di prode soldato. Quando, durante la guerra 1915-1918, l'esercito italiano il 16 novembre 1917 aveva ormai compiuto il ripiegamento sulla linea del Piave e stava rafforzando le opere di difesa, alla Brigata Marina, con l'appoggio di artiglierie navali dei natanti, fu affidata la difesa delle lagune venete e la irrevocabile chiusura della via di Venezia ai nemici. Alle navi sottilissime e velocissime, gli storici mas, scuole di eroismo, toccó la sorte di assolvere compiti difficile e numerosi, in numero assai esiguo per le necessitá del grave momento e specialmente per la lotta contro i sommergibili nemici.
