Antica famiglia nobile bellunese che i cronisti secenteschi vollero di origine romana, ma che è nobilmente nota in Belluno dal sec. XIV. Ebbe in Belluno posizione eminente, nel 1379 faceva già parte del nobile Consiglio. Nel 1412 ebbe il Palatinato (vedi Miari-Fulcis) ed in considerazione di questa onorificenza nel 1744 il Senato Veneto conferì alla famiglia il titolo di conte. Questa famiglia vestì più volte l'abito di Malta. Antonio fu Balì in qust'ordine e suo ambasciatore a Vienna. Ebbe conferma di nobiltà con S.R.A. 19 nov. 1820 13 aprile 1829 nelle persone di Giovanni Andrea di Matteo e di Fulcio ed Antonio di Felice. Dei Sottodecritti alcuni solamente e cioè quelli cui viene notato il D.M. di ricnoscimento sono iscritti nel Libro d'Oro, gli altri sono iscritti soltatno nell'Elenco coi titoli di nobile (mf.), conte palatino (m.)
