Some of the members of this family are said to have been among the armed men who, in the year 854, imprisoned the brother of the Doge of Venice, who wished to take Comacchio's position; but, apart from the fact that that fact would have happened almost thirty years later, that is to say in about 881, it is not possible, as is well understood, to ascertain the truth of the tradition.
