Se dice que algunos de los miembros de esta familia estuvieron entre los hombres armados que, en el año 854, encarcelaron al hermano del dux de Venecia, que deseaba tomar el puesto de Comacchio; pero, aparte del hecho de que ese hecho habría sucedido casi treinta años después, es decir, alrededor del año 881, no es posible, como es bien entendido, determinar la verdad de la tradición.
