Dizem que alguns membros dessa família estavam entre os homens armados que, no ano de 854, prenderam o irmão do Doge de Veneza, que desejava assumir a posição de Comacchio; mas, além do fato de que esse fato teria acontecido quase trinta anos depois, isto é, por volta de 881, não é possível, como é bem entendido, averiguar a verdade da tradição. Na segunda metade do século XVII, a família floresceu em Comacchio, dividida em vários ramos. O mais conspícuo deles foi aquele ao qual Cesare di Vespasiano pertencia, jurisconsult, dec. 1697, de setenta anos, que, pela maneira como ele ocupava os cargos que lhe foram confiados, merecia a honra de ser dita em seu epitáfio bono Reièpublicae natus. Giuseppe di Vincenzo e seus dois filhos Antonio e Cinzia descendem de Gaetano, conselheiro permanente da Comunidade, primeiro ancião da safra, de 1 de abril de 1772 a 31 de março
