Cuenta mosén Jaime Febrer que el caballero Arnaldo C., natural de la ciudad de Cervera (Lérida), pasó con una compañía a servir al rey don Jaime I de Aragón, quien al ver el buen comportamiento que habían tenido en la guerra quiso sufragar a su capitán lo gastado; pero Arnaldo C. le respondió: "El buen vasallo, por expender sus bienes en servicio de su rey, no viene a menos; mi casa está adornada todavía de ricas tapicerías, y a más de plata y mucho oro tengo también dos casas en el campo". En 19 de Febrero de 1589 figuraba como vecino de la vila de Fabara, del partido judicial de Caspe (Zaragoza), Jaime Juan C., infanzón. Otra casa muy antigua. Casas de este apellido hubo en Perpiñán (Francia) y en el lugar de Sant Guim de la Plana, del partido judicial de Cervera y provincia de Lérida. Enlazaron con distinguidas familias catalanas.
