Los primeros recuerdos de esta ilustre familia se remontan a un Antonio, portulano de Salerno en el segundo. XIII, y a un Peter, que con otros nobles de Bitonto prestó dinero al rey Carlos I de Anjou. Feudatorio desde principios de siglo. XV, disfrutó de nobleza en Bitonto, Capua, Benevento y Lucera. En Nápoles se inscribió en el asiento de Portanova, en 1788. Llevaba el vestido de Malta desde 1595. Fue decorado por el rey Carlos de Borbón con el título de marqués en la persona de Baldassarre, un título que, otorgado a favor de su sobrino Carlos, vino de este , con consentimiento real, registrado en los feudos de Torrecuso y Torrepalazzo. En el título y posesión de los feudos, Carlo fue sucedido por su hijo Michele, quien murió en 1804. La línea más antigua de esta familia. para el matrimonio de Carlo (dic. 1487) con Anna Maria Filomarino
