Antigua familia alejandrina, nacida de Casale Monferrrato. Las primeras memorias datan del siglo XV con Ambrogio, quien fue canciller de Francesco Sforza en 1463 y con Francesco, quien recibió propiedades feudales en enfiteusis del capítulo de Casale en 1469 y adquirió jurisdicción sobre Quattordio, Roccasparviera y Masio. Entró en el orden de las familias de granjeros del dosel: un honor que persistió en su esquiat incluso después de emigrar a Alejandría. Un Giangiacomo, quien murió en 1601, fue jurisconsulto, abogado general, secretario y canciller de Cristierna de Dinamarca, dama de Tortona (1583, 1591). Un Evandro, quien murió en 1608, fue capitán de justicia en Mantua (1617), luego senador en Casale; publicó el Consilia (Casale, 1600) y los Elucubrationes (Casale 1615). A Pietro Francesco, quien murió en 1753, se mudó a Alessandria y fue admitido en ese decurionato. Estaba calificado como conde y tenía un diploma de palatinado. Nació de él
