Ci sono diverse case in Spagna Claro, fin da secoli molto remoti era conosciuta e molto apprezzata. Gli storici notano giustamente che non tutti i lignaggi di questo cognome hanno un'origine comune. L'origine di questo illustre cognome, da riferimenti di storici dell'epoca e altri rinvenuti da Araldis negli archivi anagrafici di città e altri privati, si potrebbe affermare che questo scudo o un altro molto simile ad esso, apparve inizialmente dall'XI al il XIV sec., in particolare nelle celebrazioni del 1221 in occasione della posa della prima pietra della Cattedrale di Burgos da parte di D. Fernando, re di Castiglia detto "El Santo". I riferimenti di questa famiglia sembrano essere specificati più frequentemente dal XV al XIX secolo, in particolare i fatti della trattativa con i francesi del Trattato dei Pirenei del 7 novembre 1659 e soprattutto nell'esatta delimitazione del confine con la Catalogna e Francia.
