Familia Orifera de Monferrato, y que constituye una de las tres ramas Cocconito, Coccastello y Malpassuto, en la que se dividieron los convasales de Montiglio. Los convasales habían estado usando el título de compromiso desde el siglo XIII, es decir, desde que el C. en 1228 reconoció su feudo por Bonifacio, marqués de Monferrato, quien también les otorgó el título de conde.
