Sie kamen aus Donato di Cocco di uguccio und gaben der Republik sechs Gonfaloniers der Gerechtigkeit und 22 Prioren. Giovanni di Cocco erhielt 1439, als der Kaiser Giovanni Paleologo zum Konzil nach Florenz kam, den Titel des Pfalzgrafen. Seit 1770 gibt es keine Nachrichten über die Familie. Der Titel des Grafen gehörte zu dieser Familie, ein Titel, den die Kaiser denjenigen auferlegten, die an ihrer Seite waren.
