Vindos de Donato di Cocco di uguccio, deram seis gonfaloniers da justiça e 22 anteriores à república. Giovanni di Cocco antes em 1439, quando o imperador Giovanni Paleologo veio a Florença para o Conselho, obteve o título de Conde Palatino. Não há notícias da família desde 1770. O título de conde pertencia a essa família, um título levantado pelos imperadores para aqueles que estavam ao seu lado. Desses condes, aqueles que estavam destinados a supervisionar os escritórios do palácio real foram escolhidos, e outros foram enviados ao governo das províncias do império e para guardar as fronteiras. Havia outras contas, estranhas aos uffizi mencionados, como as atribuídas à Annona, para comércio; e também os supervisores do exército tinham esse título. Nos tempos dos godos, a dignidade do conde era mantida por vários funcionários públicos; e os lombardos ainda disseram que seus governadores contam ou castaldi.
