Die ursprünglich aus Palermo stammende Familie kam nach Kalabrien, um das Sekretariat dieser Regionen von Karl V. an Hannibal Coccia zu vergeben. Gegründet in Tropea im 18. Jahrhundert für viele Einkäufe von stabilen Waren in diesen Bezirken. Es gibt diejenigen, die glauben, dass ein Zweig von Aquila. Anderer Zweig. Ursprünglich aus Kalabrien, dann im 16. und 17. Jahrhundert edel aus Messina. Ein Giacomo Coccia Abt Prälat der Diözese Santa Lucia del Mela, Titularbischof und königlicher Rat von 1819. Eine weitere Familie wurde als Waffe erzogen. Gelb, eine Rose in einem silbernen Band, ein Halbmond unten. . Familienmotto. Glück nicht mutat Gattung.
