Questa stirpe ha origini comuni con quella dei co. Altan di Salvarolo e discende da un Giovanni de Culossis da Porcia (Friuli), fratello di quell'Antonio che propagò a S. Vito al Tagliamento la famiglia Altan. Negli atti notarili questo Giovanni appare domiciliato prima a Porcia e più tardi a Codroipo, nel qual paese verso il 1375 faceva il pellicciaio. Il figlio di lui Giorgio, trasferitosi a Udine, fu chiamato dal luogo di provenienza di Codroipo e sotto tal nome esercitò la farmacia ed il notariato, testando nel 1414 e 1418. Suo figlio Giovanni, pure notaio, continuò il ramo udinese, mentre un altro figlio Andrea, detto Nascinguerra, eletto nel 1431 gastaldo di Aviano, fu nel 1445 aggregato al Consiglio di Conegliano ed ivi fissò la sua residenza dando origine al ramo che ancora sussiste. Girolamo Antonio, del ramo di Conegliano, divenne erede nel 1734 degli allora estintisi Codropipo di Udine e
