Il y avait une ancienne famille, qui possédait le fief de Salizio ou Salice, dont descend probablement l'actuelle famille Sant'Agostino. Un Giuseppe, de Palerme, avec privilège le 5 mai 1761, obtint le titre de baron de San Vincenzo ; un Pietro, également de Palerme, avec le privilège du 7 juin 1793 avait le titre de baron de Sant'Agostino. M. Pietro Agostino, di Matteo, di Pietro, avec son fils Carlo Emanuele avec son oncle Vincenzo et avec la fille de ce dernier: Antonia, a été inscrit sur la liste officielle des nobles avec le titre de noble des barons de Sant'Agostino. Avec R.R. LL. PP. Le 7 septembre 1901, Carlo Emanuele, prédit, fils de Pietro Agostino, fils de Matteo et Maria Teresa Martinez, obtient la reconnaissance du titre de baron de Pampinello, par succession à la maison Martinez.
