Antica e nobile famiglia originaria del Lazio. Compare nei documenti storici già prima del seicento. Un componente di questa nobile famiglia tale Sante fu nel 1559 priore del comune di Velletri, come risulta da documenti conservati nell'archivio di stato di Velletri. Altro ramo. Ascritta al patriziato aquilano prima del 1668, ebbe la baronia di Colletara e Civitatomasca, e si spense nel XVIII secolo. Altra famiglia alzò per arma. D'azzurro, alla fascia accompagnata in capo da una stella, e in punta da tre bande, il tutto d'argento. Tali sono i principii, che da sopracitati Autori si diedero a questa famiglia, ma per esser questo fatto assai remoto, e d'historia molto lontana, lasciamo perciò a più eruditi delle sacre antichità, e dell'historie l'investigarne il suo certo principio. Quel che però di certo habbiamo, è che la casata per la loro antichità, e splendore, e per virtù militare, carrichi così laicali, come Ecclesiastici,
