An Irish family of the name of 'Cole' which were established in Fermanagh, by 'Sir William Cole', (1576-1653. He was the first provost of Enniskillen, and his descendants became Earls of Enniskillen. The exact period of settlement in North America has not been definately determined but Information extracted from Public and Civil registry archive's confirm that one of the first settlers was a 'James Cole', who was one of the original founders and settlers of Hartford, Connecticut, in 1635 under the leadership of the Reverand 'Thomas
