Cette famille originaire du Haute-Vivarais, a pris part, en 1789, aux assemblées de la noblesse convoquée, à Annonay, pour l'élection des députées aux Etats-Généraux du royaume. Un jugement du tribunal civile de Tournon, du 24 avril1855, reconnaît la possession de la particule, dite nobiliaire, depuis un temps immémorial. La filiation de cette famille s'établit par des actes authentiques depuis: 1° Jean, vivant en 1592, fils de Pierre, de Silon, au mandement de Revirard, et mariéà Jeanne de Colomb. On trouve aussi à Annonay, en 1580 le capitaine Jehan, marié à Clarette de Brécieu. Elle posséda les seigneuries du Sollier, de Chirollet et du Chambon et s'allia aux bonnes maisons de la région d'Annonay.L. de La Roque, termine la généalogie de cette maison à Gilbert-Henri, marié le 26 janvier 1837, à Louise-Thérèse Ithier dont: 1° Henri-Gilbert; 2° Gilbert-Fernand.
