Ancient and very noble Calabrian family, of clear and ancestral virtue, which has spread over the centuries in various regions of Italy and the world. There are two different hypotheses on its origin. The one wants this family originated from Normandy and arrived in the Kingdom of Naples with a William, captain of the crossbowmen of Charles I of Anjou, who, in return for his services, granted him the fief of Colosimo, from which the descendants would have I treat their surname.
