Questa famiglia originaria di Ospedaletto, piccola borgata nei monti del Friuli, fu aggregata nel secolo XVII al Consiglio nobile di Gemona, e nel 1723 fece acquisto, versando 1200 ducati in contanti, e sottopenendo a vincolo feudale tante terre per ducati 8000, della giurisdizione di Cavallico, Beivars e Godia della Rep. Ven., che ne investì con Ducale II dicembre di quell'anno i fratelli Gian Giuseppe, Gio. Battista, Pietro e Francesco, figli del fu Niccolò, accordando loro il titolo di conte e iscrivendoli nell'A. L. T. con decreto del 16 dicembre 1723. Contemporaneamente gli stessi sottoposero a vincolo feudale i loro beni in Buja e Artegna per un valore di ducati 8000, e versarono nelle casse dello Stato ducati 1200. I membri della famiglia ottennero dal Governo austriaco il riconoscimento dei titoli feudali con D. della Corte Feudale austriaca del 22 aprile 1865, e dal Governo Italiano con D.M.
