Ancienne et très noble famille frioulane, de vertu claire et ancestrale, répartie au cours des siècles dans diverses régions d'Italie et du monde. La famille était maîtresse du château de Fagagna et s'appelait donc aussi Comini di Fagagna. Cependant, lorsque, en raison des révolutions du Frioul, elle fut privée du fief et de ses biens, elle s'installa à Udine et, en 1350, fut agrégée à cette citoyenneté. La noblesse évidente de la famille est confirmée par sa présence dans le précieux ouvrage "Le dictionnaire historique et blasonique des familles nobles et notables italiennes éteintes et florissantes", du généalogiste Giovan Battista di Crollalanza, publié à Pise en 1886 en trois volumes, de plus de 1400 pages. Autre famille. Noble famille vénitienne, toujours rapportée par Crollalanza, qui, au cours des décennies, a toujours réussi à produire une série d'hommes qui ont rendu son nom célèbre, dans la fonction publique, dans les professions
