La noble familia de Ivrea, luego se mudó a Turín, llamada Comotti o Comotto, que está decorada con el título de barones de Piverone, que se ha extendido a lo largo de los siglos en varias regiones de Italia. Según genealogistas autorizados, el origen de esta cognominación debe buscarse en una modificación aférea del hipochorístico del nombre "Giacomo" ("Giacomotto"). Además, esta familia, en el desarrollo de su brillo, siempre ha logrado producir una serie de hombres que se han hecho famosos, en el empleo público, en profesiones liberales y eclesiásticas y en el servicio militar. Entre estos, sin aumentar el valor de lo omitido, están: Nicola, médico en "utroque jure", que vivía en Ivrea, en 1574; Benedetto, jurista en Ivrea, floreciente en 1602; Lorenzo, claro jurisconsulto, doctor en "utroque jure", viviendo en Turín, en 1632; Amedeo, Regio Notaio, viviendo en Turín, en 1662; Carlo, de la Orden de Predicadores, oyente
